Tequila and Tea

In honor of all the summer cookouts, cocktails, and cabana minglings here are some chic ways to make your summertime entertainment a class act:

Set the Stage with this FABULOUS midcentury bar cart...I mean this baby is GORGEOUS...I die over these lines, LOVE LOVE LOVE

Anchor the cart on the wall staging the area as the "designated entertainment spot" with this fabulous scalloped metallic wallpaper (yes you CAN mix metallics and look impossibly chic)..subtle contrast and simple design, BIG impact

Stock your bar cart with these fabulous bar accessories: Midcentury metallic labeled decanter set (LOVE);  modern metallic cocktail set, mercury glass decanter and spiral glass rack, and red metallic pitcher set, ; sterling silver mint julep/derby cups (for good southern measure); vintage seltzer bottles (great texture); kitschy shot glasses (LOOOOOVE these); hammered copper champagne bucket (oh-so-stylish); faux horn bar ware circa 1960's; and a fabulously industrial feeling metal and leather wine cradle

And we can't forget these stunning vintage glass decanters from the preview post (I am starting a collection of these) that catch the light beautifully and are topped with jewel like baubles

Colorful, vibrant, flirtatious, lighthearted conversation artwork to hang over the bar cart (Daaaahhhhhhling!):

Or this:
The Great Gatsby cover art poster (impossibly romantic story + prohibition + fascinating cover = ironically appropriate and eye catching framed focal point) Love the drama and colors of this (plus it's my favorite book)

Or frame some smaller scale yet largely fabulous prints and pictures in thick white mats along with a few small mirrors and place linearly in a clean, simple, streamline shelf for a look like this. Offers a crisp, tailored, modern, and unified look to the eclectic grouping of mid century finds on the bar cart below.

Now, sip away my friends

Or, perhaps you grew up on the other end of the spectrum in a Southern Baptist home (like me) in the middle of the bible belt surrounded by tea tugglers and hush-hush hidden bottles or, for personal, moral, or otherwise reasons aren't fond of the bottle...THAT'S OKAY TOO! You can still have a chic and fabulous entertainment area, dahling...

Turn the bar cart setting above into an eclectic tea cart showcasing stunning collections and variations of tea pots, sets, creamers, sugar bowls, cups and saucers

And guess what? THEY DON'T HAVE TO MATCH!!! Variety is the spice of life, love. Keep your collection as unique and individualized as the guests who will use it.

Use masculine and angled mid century pieces; dainty and properly English ones; artsy, abstract, and hand painted watercolors;  bold, tribal inspired, and graphic ikat; boxy, clean, and linear vintage art deco sets; delicate and detailed sea inspired; preppy and posh initialed or monogrammed cups; and once again don't be afraid to mix metals and warm up some silver tones with rich and luxe brass

Switch out the 5-o'clock somewhere art for a colorful and retro inspired framed tea time poster with rich saturated colors (that picks up on the colorful cups and kettles) and there you have a varied and vibrant entertainment cart sure to strike up conversations for its unconventional personality.

Don't forget to add fresh flowers and scones!

Party Hardy,
