My Oh My Oh Malachite

I have been fascinated with malachite for sometime now but ever since recent red carpet spottings of lusciously lavish and opulent emerald tones I have renewed my marvel for this magnificent stone (and, for the record, all things bright and richly saturated in this captivating hue)

{This hue is flattering on everyone, no?}

Malachite first came on the scene in Fourth Dynasty of Egyptian Antiquity and was used for tomb paintings, jewelry, and ground for eyeshadow ( Egyptians are so fab). Apparently "malachite is a good stone for transformations, helping the wearer adapt to changing situations and to get closer to what you want to be.  It helps to release past negative experiences, even without consciousness.  Malachite helps you to clarify and understand your emotions [it] facilitates love and friendship, as well as responsible business relationships.." {Source} Personally, I just think it is undeniably rad but if it wants to clarify my emotions and transform my life and what-not while I douse my house in artful accents and drape my body in vintage ornaments that's all right with me!

I am drawn to this stone for its perplexity and plasticity, dimension and depth, mystique and moodiness. I am so in love with these malachite boxes. The marbleized organic swirls and rich velvety green variations paired with structure, polish, and Regency bamboo adornments make storage opulent and extravagant. Would be fabulous for a jewelry box or desk organizer to hide necessary what-nots as seen here.

Paired with painters stripes, supple leather, textural wicker, gold hardware, and hints of high impact contrast with mustard yellow, bright fuchsia, or poppy malachite takes on a chic, modern, and timeless dimension in your wardrobe or your home.

It adds an air of formality to any setting with its regal and statuesque presence

Or an atmosphere of whimsy

With muted veining and coloration it can become a subdued yet stately accent

Or it can be the bell of the ball and command the room with supremely defined and structured presence.

Or you can be the belle of the ball and rock it to work in a chic sheath

Or for a night-on-the-town with one-shouldered number

It can illuminate your desk and provided marvelous distractions all day

Or flank a vintage hallway credenza

It can bewitch your kitchen cabinets

Or living room for quite the conversation starter

Or you can merely be inspired by its rapturous and captivating entity and stylize and disassemble malachite in your space with deliciously swanky textiles conveying the same fluid hand, variegation of emerald hues, and extracted patterning.

Or you can give yourself a malachite manicure like I did and take it with you for a constant reminder to stay positive, ambitious, open to new people and opportunities, and foxy-to-boot!

Go Green,
