Eye Candy: A Haunting

H A P P Y  H A L L O W E E N

In tribute to the ghouls and goblins that are sure to be running around my house in search of candy later tonight here are some eerily beautiful pictures of some haunting architecture for your Halloween "eye" candy.

It is really fascinating to think that something that was once so new, so fresh, so beautiful, so architecturally detailed, so brimming with life and with activity now stands so lost, so deserted, so abandoned, so dilapidated. What happened? What is the story with each of these pictures? How does it get from its original intended use to become a desolate location...a mysterious phantom of what it once was? The transition seems apparitional and illusory.

How will you be celebrating today? A glamorous and ghostly gathering? A bewitchingly black manicure? A criminal intake of candy? Do tell.

Wishing You a Sassy Spookfest,

  3. I am so glad to see someone appreciate the eerie beauty of old Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center :-) It would make a great photo essay for a local magazine. I look forward to following your blog after seeing you in SouthPark magazine. Great decor and writing style, and very fun read.
