Thanksgiving Tablescapes: Artsy, Painted, & Posh

In an artsy downtown loft...

this creatively chic darling resides. With a background in art and fashion her life is propelled and her passions driven by freelance endeavors, commissioned paintings, gallery crawls, and carefully handcrafted visions. She does her best work at 3 a.m., coffee is her lifeline, color consumes her every thought and, she is never one to not have a sketchbook and pen on hand. Her nails are often painted cobalt blue or whichever color acrylics she used that morning, and the tips of her hair have often sported the same electric hue. Her hands and arms are always smeared with a badge of charcoal she wears proudly. Her personal style can be described as unique, eclectic, and a bit quirky but always creative, fashion forward, and distinctly her. She fearlessly approaches the world as she is with no regards to the eyebrow raises of passerbys. She is an artist through and through.

Her tablescape takes a wildly different approach with eclectic pairings and DIY crafts. The traditional fall pallet is replaced with inky blues, navy, indigo, and electric jolts of purple and fuschia. Every piece selected is chosen for its distinctive nature and dimensional aesthetic and no item is safe from alterations. A drop cloth hand painted with gold and eggplant stripes serves as the tablecloth. Colorful jewel-tone artisan chargers serve as the backdrop to abstract dinner plates while suave, timeless, vintage gold highballs balance out the eccentric spray painted flatware. The table centerpieces consist of artfully arranged king protea, dahlias, and spray painted succulents (yes, spray painted) in rich hues of violet, amethyst, burgundy, and citron. Spiky bronzed urchin sculptures and wine bottle candles further enhance the "la vie boheme" casualty and eclecticism.
