I am a firm firm FIRM believer that the items in your home and in your wardrobe and in your jewelry box and....anywhere personal to you, really... should be meaningful....should tell a story, should have character and charm, should hold a piece of sentimentality, should proclaim something about your personality, your style, your persona, your hobbies, your interests....NOTE: nowhere in that phrase did I say go out and buy the most expensive "must have" items de jour that each and every blog and magazine out there put up on a pedestal of this seasons trends de la fabulous....select items that hold integrity in their uniqueness, that hold truth in their quality and construction, that hold warmth in their expression of YOU, that amuse you, make you smile, make you reflect on fond memories, make you stir conversations, make you laugh, make you happy when you look at them....invest in quality pieces that convey the essence of YOU (whether that be a fine Parisian antique velvet chaise or a simple framed poster from a local thrift store) and display them proudly. Honestly, there is nothing I find sadder than to inquire of a wondrous necklace or vintage pair of lamps only to find them void of a story...void of a meaning...and even sadder? To find that they were simply purchased because XYZ magazine/blog said it was a trend...Remember, YOU are the only person that can ever be YOU so go on and do that 110%....mmmkay?
